Church Has Left the Building 2025

We would love for you to join us!

Service projects are available on Saturday, March 29 and Sunday, March 30.

This year we will gather together on Saturday, March 29 and our Fifth Sunday, March 30, for our church-wide service initiative Church Has Left The Building, a program coordinated by our Board of Deacons.

We are offering seven different projects. Find the one that best suits you! Individuals and teams may split up for various community projects.

I’m not available March 29th or 30th, how can I help?

If you won’t be available that weekend, don’t worry! Donations are needed to support this effort and you can donate toward the cost of the materials needed for the College Care Packages that will be assembled.

Prayer Vigil Saturday, March 29

The Prayer and Discipleship Committee is coordinating a 12-hour Prayer Vigil in support of our Church Has Left the Building weekend. You may select a 30-minute time slot(s) starting at 5:00 am and ending at 5:00 pm. Sign Up today to select your preferred slot.

We have a very busy 5th Sunday

We begin with worship in Miller Commons followed by service projects and the Deacons Chili Cookoff:
  • 9:30 – 10:00 am: Combined Worship (Miller Commons)
  • 10:00am – 12:00 noon: CHLTB Service Projects
  • 12:00 noon: Deacons Chili Cookoff
There will be no nursery care, Sunday School or Adult Spiritual Formation that morning to allow families to work together on projects.

What is Church Has Left the Building?

Each year, coordinated by our Board of Deacons, members and families head out into the community to be the hands and feet of the church.

Activities are designed to support our church and our community partners. Projects are formatted so that people of any skill level and any age can take part. We offer something for everyone… and it’s fun!

Each special program is led by a Deacon. We offer thanks to past leaders Susan Shaffer, Bobbi Voglesong, Gail Sorin, Rev. Wes Allen, Mike McNeil, Karen Hynoski and Leslie Spencer.

In 2021 we left the building – literally!

Our church-wide mission project was redesigned to reflect the global pandemic, and in 2021, all activities were safely done off-site. We added more projects and encouraged families to work together on larger projects such as food drives.
See all we accomplished in our wrap-up video!
