Director of Outreach

The First Presbyterian Church of Moorestown is seeking to fill the position of Director of Outreach.
 
An essential member of the First Presbyterian Church of Moorestown team, the Director of Outreach provides leadership efforts that integrate our mission, vision, and core values into the fabric of the Missions ministry. The successful candidate is asked to develop, lead and regularly reassess a comprehensive program of Christian mission outreach and benevolence, both locally and globally, in order to fulfill the Great Commission to make disciples of Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:19-20), to deploy faithful witnesses for Him who are led to do justice, to love kindness, and to walk humbly with our God (Micah 6:8) at home and throughout the world; and, in the process, to encourage FPCM members to progress on their faith-journey as Christ-followers.
 
The candidate will possess experience and success in the following areas: Outreach Strategy and Vision, Communication, Education and Training, Leadership and Administration.
 
Additionally, the committee is searching for a person who has the following qualities:
1. A mature Christian faith and commitment to the Christian life, specifically with a passion for missional work.
2. Ability to meet the following schedule requirements
a. All Sundays from 9:00 AM till 12:00 PM.
b. Attend the monthly Mission Committee evening meeting.
c. Attend the monthly Deacon Board evening meeting.
d. Attend weekly staff meetings.
e. The workweek is approximately 25-28 hours per week on average with required attendance in the office on Tuesday/Wednesday and Sunday as appropriate.
3. Strong verbal and written skills.
4. Leadership experience.
5. Ability and willingness to travel both domestically and internationally, experience preferred.
6. Two + years of mission experience, with an education related to missional work and/or policies.
7. Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. MS Publisher, and google docs is helpful.
8. Ability to work collaboratively and professionally with the FPC staff and community.

Director of Youth Ministries

The First Presbyterian Church of Moorestown is seeking to fill the position of Director of Youth Ministries.
 
The Director of Youth Ministries will love God and love young people and their families with the intent of calling, modeling and equipping students to become disciples of Jesus Christ who, in turn will make disciples. The Director helps with the planning, development, and implementation of programs and events for our youth from 7th through 12th grades, including both the Senior High and Middle School Youth Groups. The Director of Youth Ministries will also help the congregation live into the principles of Growing Young. This position is Part-Time, 15 hours per week
 
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION
  1. Plan, develop, implement, and oversee the weekly youth programs.
    1. Plan, coordinate and lead weekly Youth Groups. The Director of Youth Ministries serves alongside our Youth Advisors providing support and leadership.
  2. Make contact with members the Youth Group and their friends in appropriate public meeting places for building relationships.
  3. Partner with parents in the fostering a growing faith environment in the church and the home through the following:
    1. Regular Individual Parent Meetings (2 per program year) and being available to parents as needed.
  4. Help Youth Advisors schedule for youth ministry activities and programs. The Youth Director works with Youth Advisors and Office Staff to communicate with families and the congregation.
 
QUALIFICATIONS OF APPLICANT
  1. 1-3 years’ experience in similar role preferred. Some formal Youth Ministry training preferred.
  2. A Completed degree from an accredited college or university.
  3. Ability to adequately perform basic communications using technology.
  4. Successful completion of an in-depth background check.
