Missions at FPC
Missions HIghlights photos from 2011
We are actively involved in mission projects from Camden to Kenya, Mexico to India, from US colleges to African primary schools– and with peoples and places in-between. We are committed to personal relationships and involvement in mission service that focus on those who live in the "10/40Window" with the least opportunity to hear the Gospel, the crisis of HIV/AIDS in the developing world, children at risk, and education as an instrument of change.
Shortterm outreach journeys, locally and internationally, are investments in experiencing the blessing of mutual encouragement with our mission partners. These opportunities have proven to be life-changing, faith building experiences for youth and adults. Through these experiences, our people meet and work with missionaries and mission partners in their place of witness and are exposed to a greater world view. Hosting interpretation activities, missionary visits, presentations by special speakers, and personal testimonies of our mission travelers help us know the significance and impact of being a presence in the world. Ongoing communication of mission news happens through the Planted Seeds Mission Newsletter, feature Weathervane articles, inserts in Sunday bulletins, ongoing fund-raising events for missions, and special events/communications when appropriate. A mission in our 'back yard' began last spring when a rehab project was started to transform a small home the church owns into a Mission Residence for mission guests. Enthusiastic volunteers from several mission journeys have devoted many hours of service to prepare this.
